At the time I drew this piece (long before the live-action movies), I had not seen an image of Prime sitting down - he was always in a heroic stance. I wanted to see if I could draw him sitting down, but maintain his presence as a leader.

This Optimus Prime cover was first created in 2001 for Antarctic Press' "CYBERTRONIAN", then later published in Image's "GENESIS - The Art of Transformers"

I love the perspective. Almost like the POV of your average-sized human might see him, if they were sitting on his foot. The color and shading is all very nice as well, but that perspective really makes the scene.
